HOW TO GET TO MANAROLA?

By train or with own transportation.

By train: the small railway station in Manarola is located at the bottom of the town about 10 minute walk from our property. Only local and regional trains stop about every hour from about 5 am to 11:45 pm
Please take a look at the official website of the Ferrovie dello Stato www.trenitalia.it to find out updated information about rates, schedules, connections and how to purchase tickets online

With own transportation: Please note that inside the towns of the Cinque Terre the transit with own car is  forbidden, except for loading and unloading. Cars – and other means of transport – must be parked just before the built-up area either on the parking managed by the National Park (for a fee) or along the main road (free of charge).

CAR OR TRAIN?

It’s up to you and your needs but we suggest the train! This is not only because of the limited number of parking spaces, but also because once you are in Manarola, you’ll never ever use the car, except maybe for mid distance destinations like Genoa, Pisa, Lucca, which can be reached by train as well!

Once here, you’ll get around the area by train, by boat, on foot… not by car!! Remember that trains run fairly regularly, especially during the high season, from early in the morning till midnight. Furthermore, to park during high season or holidays or in some spring and summer weekends can be a serious trouble and you can loose time to spend different.

However, if you don’t like to give up the car, you can still drive to Manarola and park just before the built-up area along the road on the free parking places or in the paid parking managed by the National Park.
